Dream

“I dreamt about a white cat that I am dressing like a baby.”

The Interpretation

A white cat in a dream is usually a sign that you have a false sense of reality about a particular situation that you have good intentions for. Cats in dreams usually reflect self-deception or an illusion you have about reality. Telling yourself that something is more important than it really is or preferring to feel good about something that isn’t true. The color white in your case most likely reflects your genuine intentions about this illusion. Basically, you are choosing to feel good about something you don’t have all the facts about. White cats are common in dreams to people that choose to feel good about a lie, pretending to have a girlfriend, or are tell themselves that something unconfirmed is important to defend.

Dressing this white cat as though it were a baby is a sign that you are too concerned with this illusion. You are caring about it, protecting it, and defending it. Perhaps, even putting on a show for others about how much you care about someone or something that isn’t real in order to look good.

The dream is a sign that not only do you need to become a lot more objective about a particular situation, you need to stop giving your excuses to keep the illusion alive. I might guess that someone has confronted you about your false sense of the facts and you are looking for ways to keep the illusion alive no matter what. You’re giving a lie or false belief too much power in your life. You need to learn to be a lot more objective and self-critical while trying to only seeing the truth for what it really is.

Background Information

The dreamer is having serious financial problems in her family and has tried to cut down on non-essential items to keep the bills low while her husband and son keep demanding them. Shortly after this dream her husband has a big stroke of luck while talking to someone on the radio who gave him a job tearing down a house (he’s in demolition).

The Dream

“I was under a large tent, the kind without sides. There was a line of children standing outside the tent, with plates held out. I was giving them sandwiches. Along came my long-deceased uncle, and sat me down in a chair next to him. He seemed a little annoyed. He told me he was going to give me a gift, but it would take about a year. I looked down at my hands, and I was holding a package, wrapped in white paper. He then told me I was to stop “giving my bread away.”

The Interpretation

The dream appears to be reflecting your frustration with having to be responsible with the finances while other people in the family are not so keen on it. The open tent and sandwiches reflect your attempt to cater to your families wishes while doing whatever you can financially to get through the harder times. The Uncle and his gift most likely reflect the good luck your husband received by getting a demolition job. The white packaged gift represents the surprise and sudden nature of the situation. The white color of the package represents the purifying qualities that this job opportunity presents your family.

The ending of the dream seems to be reflecting your sense that now that some good luck has come for the family that catering to your family’s wishes for non-essentials is not a good idea. Your intuition may be telling you that now is the time to stop putting up with their selfishness and to put your foot down so the families finances can be restored without wasting the opportunity.

Background Information

The dreamer has a friend that has aspergers syndrome which he says makes this friend very uncomfortable with also having noticeable anti-social behaviors. The dreamer is trying to negotiate with this friend on living arrangements so that they can live together because the friend has certain demands that need to be respected.

The Dream

Hi, I had a dream that my friend took my face in his hands and was about to kiss me. This is not something he would ever do to anyone as he is asexual and rejects the idea of close contact in any way whatsoever. He says he cannot bear contact as he has aspergers syndrome and it makes him very uncomfortable, but we are very close friends and get on extremely well together. What does this mean?

The Interpretation

Kissing in dreams like this may reflect approval. The dream may be a sign that you are
too concerned with having this others guys approval. A sign that his illness or social problems may have become a tool to control you due to your good nature. Alternatively, the dream may be a sign that you are giving yourself approval over an issue that doesn’t really benefit you as much as you truly want. Either way you may be conforming too much to this other persons needs.

Your friend in the dream sounds like he reflects your feelings about meeting your friend’s wishes to rent the apartment as you go above and beyond what is normal. His kiss would represent his acceptance of you or happiness with your choice to do what he wants.

The dream sounds like you may benefit from choosing to not rent the apartment with this guy or at least making sure that some of your demands are being met as well so that this whole renting situation isn’t all about what your friend wants.

The dreamer is thinking of getting a new job or contract.

The Dream

“What does it mean to dream of carrying a living head of a small baby?”

The Interpretation

The dream sounds like it may be reflecting your hesitance or anxiety about trying to get a new job or taking a risk to get one. Babies often reflect a problem situation that requires our constant attention. Heads by themselves often reflect something we are thinking about that has no traction or action in life. Metaphorically, it sounds like you are carrying around the idea of getting a new job that you feel has no real potential or traction at the moment.

Do you feel that getting a new job is hopeless or risky?

Question

I was reading your interpretations under the category people, and you had the different races analysed. What if I am Chinese and it is normal to dream of Chinese people?

Answer

Unless there are other races in the dream it may not always mean much to dream of your own race. Especially if they are friends, family, or famous people. If you don’t know the Chinese people appearing in your dream it’s better to look at the faces, body, and clothing and ask yourself how feel to you. Are they attractive, dull, scary, fat? It’s the faces and body type that symbolically describe your issues or what you feel about others.

Chinese people can have the same meaning for the race that dreams of them. In your case it would just mean that you are either taking an unbiased or uneager attitude to something (preferring to work instead of party, or preferring to be patient) or that you might want to try harder to have a little more fun in your life. Negatively, it could mean you are putting yourself down by telling yourself that you are boring or unattractive. It could also mean you need to try harder to let someone else feel good about themselves.

Alternatively, a dream with a Chinese person could be reflective of your cultural programming or family life. If you are surrounded by Chinese people all day long in waking life as opposed to a more multi-cultural environment than it may very important that Chinese people are appearing in your dreams.

When it comes to race in a dream it really all depends on how the person of a specific race appears or what they are saying to you. If you see strangers of a different race standing beside strangers of your own race it could reflect a psychological conflict or emotional challenge of some sort. In this case I would definitely say the meaning of Chinese People is the same for you as it would be for other races.

Background Information

The dreamer was close to entering college for the very first time when they had this dream. The felt that they might have been nervous about their transition from highschool to college.

The Dream

“In this dream I am in my older house, it is night and I decide to go outside for a walk to clear my head. I throw on my jacket, get my shoes quietly and walk out the back downstairs door to not wake anyone up.

Next I am walking down these long lamp lighten streets, calmly enjoying the night and its pleasant breeze. Though the neighborhood I remember begins to change and manipulate a bit and all of a sudden I am not walking down familiar streets, but unfamiliar streets I am walking and exploring at the same time. I walk beside this tall red-bricked wall for quite a distance then suddenly it just stops and there is this thick forest beside the street that just continues for a very long distance.

I keep walking, just enjoying the walk when I notice something particular. This soft blue emanating light from the forest. I debate going into the unknown woods but decide to take a quick look thinking it didn’t seem too far from the road. So I walk through the woods and come across this clearing. In the middle of this clearing is this pure white bare oak tree. The light seems to be emanating from it, the moon is full and is hanging what looks like right above it.

Though it is what is sitting at the foot of the tree which is note worthy. This young women with long flowing white hair and this soft long blue-ish robe is lying against the base of the tree. Her eyes are closed and her head is resting against the tree, I notice from where I was this circlet of wounds against her forehead and around her head and a thin stream of blood is flowing from the wounds. Then I notice her wrists, Her hands are open towards me and her wrists have these deep cuts that go all the way through and underneath them into the soil the blood is flowing. The base of her feet as well have deep wounds,

At the sight of this I fall to my knees and notice something else. Sitting on either side of this women on the bare branches are two birds. One is a silver dove and it looks straight at me and on the other side of the tree is this huge pure black raven with these deep blood red eyes and it stares right into me too.

But the interesting thing about the raven in this dream is that it had a third eye. Right in the middle of its forehead it had this eye with working eyelids.”

The Interpretation

The dream is probably a reflection of your anxiety about transitioning to college from highschool as well as your anxiety about prospective choices for a career for the future.

The strange neighborhood your casually explore at night is probably a symbol for your anxiety about the future as you prepare for college and consider what it is you are going to do for the rest of your life. The red bricked wall may reflect your negative feelings about highschool forcing you to prepare for college in ways you thought were pointless (normal for students) without really understanding why because you couldn’t see the potential outcomes.

The wall suddenly ends and leaves you at a forest to reflect the confusion you feel for the future as you leave behind the obstacle of high-school preparation pressures. You can finally see some purpose to your preparation now even if you aren’t 100% confident about how things will turn out.

The oak tree you come across may reflect your acceptance into a college and your feeling of permanent achievement it gives you. Total confidence that you have a chance in the world.

The girl with wounds on her body as the base of the tree may reflect feelings you have about yourself not having done enough. Having screwed up in high-school with grades that weren’t perfect.

The two birds at the end I believe are the most important symbols of this dream. They reflect both positive and negative outcome potentials you feel for the future when you will finally be off on your own working. The silver dove is how you feel about being successful if you work hard enough in college and the raven is the sense of dire warning you feel your life is giving you if you don’t push yourself hard enough to take college seriously.

The dream overall seems to reflect your fear of being a loser if you don’t try hard enough. I think it also shows that you knew the right path to take and just didn’t believe in yourself enough.

Background Information

The dream occurred shortly before a fertilization procedure.

The Dream

What I first recall is being in my room on the floor which is dark and I can’t see anything that more than a couple feet away, except for my bed which is a head of me. I’m being dragged, I look forward and see a baby about 6 months old in just a diaper has me by the wrist. The baby doesn’t make a sound or look back just straight head. So I look past the baby and see that it is dragging me under the bed which is black feels like I’d fall into it. I’m terrified I’m pulling back with all my might but it does nothing. There is no affect. I wake up as the baby reaches the side of the bed. It didn’t last very long felt let just a few mins.

The Interpretation

The dream is most likely reflecting your feelings of fear of being stuck with the decision to have a baby once you’ve made it. A last minute of cold feet. Not an unusual feeling to have considering the permanence and life changing nature of the choice to have a child. It may also reflect you fear about the social stigma with being noticed having had a child using an artificial procedure…feeling that people will think something is wrong with you.

Bed’s in dreams usually represent a final decision we’ve made. You are metaphorically “making your bed and sleeping in it.” The colour black represents fear or emotional excess.

If you are being dragged under a black bed it may reflect the fear of being forced into this decision as well as the fear of noticed by your friends or family for having something wrong with you for going the artificial route to get pregnant.

Background Information

“My mother committed suicide last Tuesday. She had been fighting those demons for years as her mother, sister and brother had all done the same back in the 80′s. She was taking medication, never diagnosed as anything but depressed, etc. She had a hard life but things were looking really promising the last decade. Brand new car, adding house addition for master bedroom, great job, etc. Anyway, she stuck a .38 colt to her heart and pulled the trigger in her new unfinished bathroom. She was a few months from retiring and was so happy it seemed …. When I finally fell asleep some Wednesday morning after cleaning her mess up, I had a dream that I’ve never had before.”

The Dream

I was walking down the street towards an old-fashioned drug store. In front of the store was an Indian, native American style. He had a saucer in his left hand, tea cup in his right. He turned and looked at me, tear drop running down his cheek. He rotated the cup 3x counter clockwise on the saucer while looking down, tapped his cup to the saucer, then nodded his head at me while sipping the tea/coffee. I could not see inside the cup, nor do I remember the dress of the Indian.

I left the drugstore and stopped by a convenience store. There was an Indian family there with Mom, Grandma, and daughter. The daughter was young, maybe 8. They all did the exact same thing as the first one. This continued in my dream at several other places with up to 10 people rotating cups on saucers, tapping, and sipping them while nodding at me.

I woke up and i was spinning my right hand over my left like the Indians did with the cup and saucers. My wife was just standing there watching me when I woke up. She came to check on me but couldn’t see what I was doing.

Any suggestions?

The Interpretation

Native Americans in dreams usually reflect an aspect of ourselves that never change or give in to fear. This is may represent your mothers death making you feel a need to be strong emotionally during this terrible moment. He may also be your fearlessness that you project to others outwards and his tears are the deep sadness you feel inside while trying to keep your family life stable.

The teacup scenario may be a reflection of you how you are telling yourself to be patient to get through this tragedy.

The drugstore is probably reflecting your wish for discretion or to avoid having to talk about the way your mother died. An embarrassing tragedy you don’t like to freely discuss with just anyone.

The dream may be a sign that you feel embarrassed or frustrated by what has happened and you are trying your hardest to cope one day at a time with your family. However, the Native American symbolism may also be a sign that you are putting too strong of an emotional defense. You may need to be honest about your feelings.

Background Information

The dreamer is a positive bubbly person and a very true and loyal friend both in her personal life and within the workplace. In the last year there has been much conflict within her work department leading to division and tension. She did not take sides and is am able to maintain great working relationships with all of my peers and superiors despite the tension.

The Dream

I was watching a scene from about 10 metres away – It was a work colleague of mine (Brigitte) consoling an old male friend of mine (Matty) from my teen years. He was terribly upset and spilling his life/troubles to Brigitte. She was strong yet tender and understanding. She was really listening, then putting things in perspective for him and offering solid advice. All this I saw through body language as I couldn’t hear the words spoken. I remember thinking how lovely Brigitte was, a kind hearted soul. I turned around and the dream/scene changed. I was holding a large flightless seagull and walking along a sandbank at dusk. On either side of me were bodies of water as far as the eye could see. To my left freshwater, to my right the ocean. I was cradling the seagull like a baby. I loved him very much and he loved me with all his heart. He was my best friend in all the world.

I was walking along the sandbank basking in this love when the sandbank came to and end and the freshwater and ocean met. The estuary was about 2-3 metres wide, then the sandbank continued. I went to stand on the edge to gauge whether I could leap across the gap when the sand under my feet gave way and my legs were plunged into the water. My feet connected with crocodiles and I quickly scrambled back up the bank I had come from. I could now see that the estuary was writhing with crocodiles! And the freshwater side was also full of them. I was afraid but my life was not in danger unless I was to attempt to cross. Then, without pause or thought, I threw the seagull into the freshwater. The water came alive with dozens of thrashing crocodiles as the all lunged for my friend the seagull. The estuary was now clear of them as they had taken my bait. I leapt across fell into the far edge of the water and scrambled up the other side. Safe.

The Interpretation

Seagulls in dreams reflect grace and understanding. A perfect symbol for your behaviour at work as you try hard not to take sides with the work department struggles. Crocodiles reflect dangerous situations and in your dream this most likely points to the danger you feel socially if you ever had to take sides. Water in dreams reflects uncertainty or negative emotional situations. So the combination of all these symbols is signalling that you are upset at the prospect of having to take sides and ruin the comfortable position you are in with your colleagues.

Throwing a seagull to a crocodile, going into the water, and then scrambling to get out of the water is most likely representing your emotional state about having said or done something that was perceived to be taking sides at work. You scramble to get out of the water most likely to reflect you attempt to get out of the uncomfortable situation caused by whatever actions you took that others did not like. You may be deeply regretting having said or done something that someone else didn’t like.

The dream may be a sign that you need to even more careful than ever about what you say or do around others in regards to the work department conflict. You may even need to start asserting yourself with people and clearly stating to them that you refuse to take sides.
