Background Information

The dreamer’s father died a few years ago.  Their relationship wasn’t very good when he was young, but dramatically began to improve shortly before his death.  They long for his advice

The Dream

“I keep having this dream about my father that passed in 2005. In this dream he is not dead. I dont know my age in the dream, but I am living at home with him, but my wife and kids are not there. I don’t really see him per se, but I know that he is there. Its like he is at work. I go to meet him at his work and the people there tell me that he has left for the day or is out of the office working or whatever, but its always the same, he is not in the office. I try to call him on his cell phone and I can not get him. I call and call but he never answers. I go home, and the home is the house where I grew up. I can see his truck driving down the road so I know that he is not dead, its like I know that he *was* dead, but is back now, and its just something that we never talk about. Like I said, I see his truck going down the road by the house, so I call and call and call his cell phone, but he wont answer the damn phone and it really makes me mad. I keep trying to get ahold of him but he wont answer the phone. I am able to talk to the people at his work and they always have some excuse as to why I just missed him or what ever he isnt around, but I see his truck driving down the road and I call and call and cant get him on the phone. Its always some different scene, but always the same scenario. I have this dream all the time. I wake up depressed and sometimes crying. I am a 33 year old man and I dont know why I have these dreams and feel this way. Just needed someone to talk to I guess. I just wish one time in the dream that he would answer the phone.”

The Interpretation

The dream appears to be pointing to your difficulty grieving and getting over your father’s passing.  Clearly, you miss him very much.  Calling him and getting no answer in the dreams reflects your disappointment in being unable to have the personal connection you once had.  Asking him for advice or having a feeling of closeness is no longer possible.

“i had a dream that i was in a locker room. I dont remember what i did exactly but i do remember that the lockers were painted red and there was lots of them.”

The dream is in love with someone and doesn’t have the courage to reveal their true feelings to them.  The person they are in love with is also dating someone else.

“ I dream that I was batman fighting 2 bad guys. The other one has a white piranha pet swimming in a crystal clear water underneath the wooden floor of the house on top of the mountain. His face was cover in make up like a clown and he keep on laughing. This bad guy dropped me half naked into the water feeding me to the piranha but the fish didn’t even bite me. He also have 2 snakes. One in the cage quietly bit moving in circle and it is black, the other one was also black with white shades and its with the piranha in the water and tried to bite me. “I need some insight on a bizarre dream I had last night. During the dream I receive a text message of all things from someone that I have a complex relationship with. Our moment recent history involves us not being in touch for over five months.  The message in the dream was: ”Hey, how are you? You can tell me how you are doing, truthfully, no judgments here.” (This felt like he was asking for honesty but what I was thinking in the dream was, that he NEVER asks me how I am doing relationship wise or who is the man in my life. This is something that I’ve pondered in real life. I ask about his mate all the time and he never asks me if I am involved.) ”Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I just wanted to just what was for the highest good.”  Then he signs it and puts Rev in front of him name as if he is a reverend or something. This seems like a not so complicated dream but for some reason it feels more like it was implanted in the dream. That’s the only way I know how to explain it. And the screen on the cell phone had all these icons lit up, a call, a text, a letter, like he was responding to all forms of my communicating at one time.”

The text messages sound like symbols for unspoken gestures or communication. Saying things without actually saying them.
