The dreamer’s son is leaving home to study mechanical engineering.  She is having a hard time letting go.

“I need some help with this one! I dreamed that there were mechanical spiders under my skin, and they hurt somewhat, so I would pick them out through my skin. They were made of metal, and eventually they turned to spikes as I pulled them out. As I pulled them, my skin started stretching and was almost like chicken skin at that point. I have tried to figure this out, one point being my son is starting mechanical engineering in Sept and he and I are super close. Anyone have some ideas?”

The Interpretation

All these bugs under your skin may reflect how bothered or uneasy you are by him leaving. His departure has gotten to you.  The mechanical nature of the spiders may symbolize the mechanical engineering that he is studying and the spiders symbolize how this situation traps you from ever being able to care or control him again.

The therapist may symbolize your realization that you are not thinking clearly about your boyfriend.  He presses you about how you feel to reflect you pressing yourself about your true feelings for him. Like you are trying to find something in him to love, but can’t. You’ve just lost your ability to care about him.

I definitely think the therapist dream reflects your own attempt to find value in the relationship. If you desire to leave and feel totally powerless to do so then the dream may be a sign that you are trying to cope with this. To wash over the pain with a sense of purpose or to find a reason to believe that staying is important.

This suicide threat from your boyfriend sounds serious…at least from an emotional standpoint (if he isn’t actually serious about it) because you are so controlled by it. I think you need to seek help or to simply cut and run. You may need to consider the possibility that he’s bluffing and just using this threat because he knows it works. You can’t live your life in a prison with someone you don’t love just because the threaten to kill themselves. This is something your boyfriend needs to deal with.

This a problem that only you can solve by choosing to. If you don’t want to leave or seek outside help then you are going to live with this problem for a long time to come.

The Dream

“There was a mother and her children – a son and two daughters and one of the daughters had some kind of a problem. The mother, who was a doctor wanted to prove that the daughter’s condition was something related to pain in the head rather than psychological (at least that’s how I remember the logic). So the mother cut open the daughter’s brain on the living room couch, put one whole almond in between the two lobes, and closed it back up, and started pressing certain points to see if the daughter would get a headache. As far as I recall there was no pain whatsoever. Then it goes to years later and the daughter is very ill, possibly almost dying, and the other two siblings are there, supposedly trying to help her. Actually I think in the dream I was the sister of the girl. The brother started cleaning up stuff and the sister did as well, and then he took a shower, and then the sister washed her hairs. After everything was clean, they were all happy.

Any ideas what this could possibly mean? thanks.”

The dream seems to reflect the pressure being placed on you to produce quality work with your thesis. The almond being placed on the brain reflects the substance and richness of work that is being demanded of you. Your theories and work has to be “thick” with meaning and value. Your mother symbolizes your intuition or choices that effect your future. So if your mother is placing an almond into a brain this would symbolize your intuition that is planning for the future with school by having to produce a really good quality thesis.

The Dream

My girlfriend recently acquired a journal with satanic depictions and writing. Since she tried to decode them shes had nightmares of deformed people wanting to take something she cares about from her. Help would be appreciated.

“I had a dream I was in the back seat of a car. I looked up and the sky was black. As I was looking up, I noticed the sky was full of penguins. They were spelling out letters but I could not figure it out. The only letter I remember is “A”. They were moving very fast. A co-worker then said it was normal. This is what penguins do and it will pass. The penguins then flew down passing the car at a very high rate of speed. My co-worker said “I dont want to die. Not today”. You can feel the car lifting be cause the penguins were passing so fast. I held on tight to the seat as the car fell. It landed on the trunk very softly. My co-worker then was in the driver side. I would tell her to watch the other cars falling. They would explode as they hit the ground. I then told her to step on it. We caught up to a bridge and there was a car driving very slow. I got out of the car and at that point I woke up.  Any ideas??”
